Inspecting the Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Concept Car on Display at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show
Added: 22 March 2018
At this years’ 2018 Geneva Motor Show Hyundai unveiled the new Le Fil Rouge five-door coupe concept car that they insist will be the outline for the future of the brand’s design blueprint.
Hyundai’s newly found attraction to sportier looks first came with the introduction of the ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ theme that was thoroughly applied to the Kona, Nexo and Santa Fe SUVs.
Hyundai’s head of styling, Sang-yup Lee says “Our goal is to build Hyundai into a beloved brand by creating vehicles with heightened emotional value" – it’s clear from this then that the Le Fil Rouge is a major driving force towards this goal.
Sensuous Sportiness Design on the Le Fil Rouge
The ample five-door coupe squats low to the ground and has a wide body assembly which gives it an aggressive sporty look straight off the bat. It has an enormous grille situated at the front end and long swooping lines on the bonnet which also add to the Le Fil Rouges sporty proportions.
Hyundai have fitted suicide doors to the Le Fil Rouge so they open coach-style, with the rear door hinges on the back of the door. This helps to display an interior that is adorned with ‘revitalised wood and high-tech fabrics’, four individual seats and also a panoramic HUD display that appears to float in front of you.
What Else Is There to Know
Well, there isn’t much else to know really. As it’s a concept car, it is unlikely to be put in to production so Hyundai haven’t made up any performance specifications. The main idea behind the Le Fil Rouge concept is that it’s a statement for the design of all future models to adhere to.
If you can’t wait for the launch of future models with the same design language then it might be worth you checking out the forthcoming Nexo FCEV!
