Hyundai has unveiled its highly anticipated KONA Iron Man Edition at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Designed to celebrate the hugely popular comic and film series, the Iron Man Edition has been designed to mimic the Marvel character with an exclusive matte grey exterior, complemented with red accenting across the roof and pillars. There is even a Marvel badge at the top of the bonnet as a tribute to the comic book creator.
Other features include Iron Man mask decals on the roof along with a second marvel badge, ‘Stark Industries’ decals on the rear doors and even Iron Man mask symbols on the 18-inch alloy wheels instead of Hyundai ones.
One key highlight is the LED daytime lights which differ from those on a standard KONA – designed to resemble Iron Man’s lit eyes. The interior is just as special with red trim used throughout against the dark grey leather seats and dashboard.
Vice President and head of Marketing Division at Hyundai, Minsoo Kim, said: “Hyundai’s ongoing collaboration with Marvel is a great way for us to become a part of what people are interested in and engage with a highly passionate fan base.
“Our relationship is more than just product placement as we aim to create custom experiences that resonate with the Marvel audience. The KONA Iron Man Edition is a perfect example of blending our two worlds together into one special vehicle that we hope will excite fans of both brands all around the globe.”
Hyundai’s latest collaboration with Marvel has been to create a fun car – one that appeals to a great many younger audiences and comic fans alike.
Marvel’s SVP of Global Partnerships & Marketing, Mindy Hamilton, said: “Seeing this car come to life is like wish fulfilment for so many of us. When you grow up reading comics, you dream of seeing that technology and those inventions become reality.
“We hope that everyone has just as much fun jumping into this one-of-a-kind vehicle as they would putting on the actual Iron Man suit of armour.”
The details about prices and numbers of cars being manufactured are yet to be announced, but we expect the car to be a low volume limited edition. If you do fancy getting your hands on an Iron Man edition KONA, please don’t hesitate to contact the team now and register your interest so we can keep you up to date.
