The Position:
We're looking for a practical, hands-on Multi Trade Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance team and help keep our dealership network safe, compliant and operating to a high standard.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining electrical maintenance with general multi-trade and facilities work across our dealership sites. We need someone with a recognised electrical qualification and practical experience who can turn their hand to a range of maintenance tasks, from electrical repairs and first-fix work to basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.
You'll carry out mainly reactive maintenance, working independently and alongside our existing team, with specialist contractors brought in for more complex works where required. You'll start each day at our Portsmouth Flagship dealership, travelling with another team member in a company van. We provide a full uniform and PPE.
Electrical competence is essential, but you must also be happy getting involved in the everyday jobs that keep our sites running smoothly. Experience with heating, ventilation, commercial plant or wider building services would be an advantage, but it isn't essential. As our Multi Trade Electrician, you'll be:
-
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites in: Portsmouth, Fareham, Southampton, Botley, Lymington, Bognor Regis and Guildford.
-
Completing electrical maintenance, repairs and first-fix work within your competence and qualifications, identifying faults and escalating specialist or complex work where required.
-
Undertaking general multi-trade repairs, including basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating and other building maintenance.
-
Helping with general site duties, including porterage, painting and decorating, shelving, furniture moves and occasional unblocking of toilets or drains.
-
Supporting the upkeep of site equipment and, where possible, assisting with heating, ventilation and commercial plant systems.
-
Working safely and maintaining high Health & Safety standards, ensuring work is carried out in line with relevant electrical safety requirements.
Essential Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
-
Qualified to carry out electrical work with a recognised electrical qualification and current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (Essential).
-
Experienced in electrical maintenance, fault-finding and repairs, ideally within commercial premises, facilities maintenance or a similar environment.
-
Practical multi-trade experience in carrying out general building maintenance, basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating.
-
Comfortable undertaking a varied workload, including everyday hands-on facilities tasks, rather than solely electrical installation work.
-
Experienced in heating, ventilation, mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems or commercial plant equipment (highly desirable, but not essential).
-
Able to work independently, manage your workload and recognise when specialist contractor support is needed.
-
A reliable team player with a positive, can-do attitude and an eagle eye for detail.
-
IPAF qualified, or willing to work towards it, and comfortable working at height.
-
In possession of your own hand tools.
Benefits:
-
30 Days Holiday (including bank holidays) that raises with length of service.
-
Private online GP service for employees and their family members.
-
Friends and Family Car Repairs, Servicing, and MOT’s.
-
Excellent training and career progression opportunities.
-
Annual Christmas Party & Awards Evening.
-
Preferential Car-Purchasing Schemes.
-
High Street Discounts with Perkbox.
-
Recognition and Reward Program.
-
Employee Assistance Program.
-
Workplace Pension Scheme.
-
Employee referral bonus.
-
Wellness Program.
