Here at Richmond Motor Group, we've launched our new car dealership in Portsmouth, housing both Škoda and Suzuki cars. On May 9th 2024, we hosted our Grand Opening to formally open the new showroom; here's how it went.
Our multi-purpose site welcomed guests with a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival, before being allowed to circulate with delicious canapés and live music, provided by Art of Taste and Encore Duo respectively. The evening was made magical by the spectacular talents of local magician Joe Tudor, who amazed guests and staff alike.
At 7:00PM, we held our opening ceremony, hosted by our founder and Managing Director, Michael Nobes and with a speech by the Dealer Principal, Wayne Sims. The RMG team welcomed The Rt Hon. Penny Mordaunt MP, who formally opened the dealership by cutting the ribbon, and declaring us open for business!
The celebration continued with more live music, magic, canapés and drinks.
Our experienced, friendly staff took guests on exclusive guided tours, showcasing our new state-of-the-art showroom.
Eco-Conscious Car Dealers
As a retailer of electric vehicles, we take our carbon footprint seriously. Like a number of Richmond multi-purpose sites - we've installed solar panels on our new showroom to power the site itself, and supply clean energy back to the grid.

Our new Škoda site features multiple charging points installed and has a number of EV experts supporting customers, both new and old, through their transition to an electric vehicle.

Our new site employs roughly 60 people from a wide range of backgrounds, all requiring a huge variety of skill sets. From mechanics to finance advisors and floor staff, we're proud to hire locally.
Charity involvement: Urbond
Through our partnership with Urbond, we help young adults into work by offering experience programmes across the business. This happens across sales and aftersales departments and will be something the new site will be heavily involved with.
