The Geely brand is going for gold this summer. Geely Auto UK has been named the Official Automotive Partner of Team England in the lead-up to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, a national partnership that brings the brand together with some of the country’s finest athletes as they prepare to compete on home soil.
For drivers in Fareham and across the south coast, it is a notable moment for a name that is still new to the area. The same electric brand now open on Newgate Lane is throwing its weight behind Team England nationally, pairing its focus on innovation and sustainable mobility with the ambition and pride of the athletes heading to Glasgow.
Carrying the King’s Baton
The partnership has already played a visible role in one of the build-up’s landmark moments. A fleet of Team England-branded electric Geely EX5 vehicles carried the King’s Baton, athletes and special guests across the country during the King’s Baton Relay, which ran from 26th to 31st May 2026. It was a fitting showcase for the Geely EX5, the five-seat electric SUV that leads Geely’s UK range, on a journey watched by communities across the country.
A national weekend of sport
The next milestone is the Team England National Sports Weekend on 18th and 19th July 2026. Delivered in partnership with GLL, the UK’s largest leisure and cultural trust, the initiative opens the door to more than 280 sports and leisure facilities nationwide, with free access designed to get people of all ages active and to try new sports. With an anticipated 350,000 participants, Geely Auto UK will be featured across campaign branding, promotional activity, and on-site experiences throughout the weekend.
It is a community-first initiative that launches just days before the Commonwealth Games, which run in Glasgow from 23rd July to 2nd August 2026.
