1995

Managing Director, Michael Nobes establishes Richmond Motor Group, starting with Hyundai Portsmouth.

2009

Richmond release King of Scrappage advertisement and raises awareness for Government Scrappage Scheme which puts Richmond Motor Group on the map.

Richmond establishes a Hyundai showroom in Southampton.

2010

Richmond becomes the Number 1 retailer supporting the Government Scrappage Scheme.

Richmond adds the Citroën franchise to the portfolio at the Portsmouth site.

2012

The Portsmouth site is redeveloped and we open a brand new state-of-the-art showroom.

2014

Guildford Hyundai is established following the purchase of a new site, establishing the Richmond name in Surrey.

Richmond win the Motor Trader Franchised Dealer of the Year Award.

2015

With significant investment, Richmond redevelops the Guildford site to make it the first world flagship site.

Richmond win the Motor Trader Franchised Dealer of the Year Award, for the second successive year.

2016

UK Van Supermarket is opened, allowing the company to specialise in commercial sales.

Hampshire Car Sales is opened in Portsmouth, specialising in Used Cars.

2017

Richmond Hyundai wins Sales Dealer of the Year Award at the European Hyundai Dealer Convention in Madrid.

Richmond Citroën Portsmouth win 4 awards at the Citroën & DS Excellence Awards.

2018

Hyundai Southampton site receives significant investment and develops site to Global Dealer Flagship status. Hyundai Southampton win Hyundai Dealer of the Year Award.

Richmond partners with MG to add another franchise to the expanding portfolio. MG branches awarded Top Dealer in the Southern Region in first year of trading.

2019

Richmond acquires Sparshatts dealerships in Fareham & Botley, adding ŠKODA, Suzuki and Mitsubishi to the company portfolio.

2020

Richmond acquires Newmans in Totton, adding an additional Suzuki dealership to the portfolio.

Richmond add the MG franchise to our Guildford site.

The Suzuki franchise is added to our Botley site.

2021

Richmond acquires an additional site in Havant, adding a third Suzuki dealership to the portfolio.

2022

The Richmond name returns to Bognor Regis! A brand new, purpose-built showroom on Saltbox Road offers a wide range of cars across the award-winning Hyundai & MG ranges.
