The highly anticipated Hyundai i30 Fastback N has arrived – bringing with it some style and flair. Based on the fiery i30 N Hatchback, the Fastback variant adds sporty coupe styling to the mix while maintaining the excellent performance the hatch has to offer.

Like its Hatchback sibling, the Fastback will be available with two engines – a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with either 250ps or 275ps, if you opt for the ‘Performance’ version. With 250ps, the car can travel from 0 to 60mph in 6.4 seconds, while the more powerful 275ps model cracks 60mph in a shade over six seconds. Both also have a top speed of 155mph.

On the outside, the bodywork design is that of an aggressively styled five-door coupe. Despite this, the Fastback is very practical thanks to a large tailgate, revealing an impressive boot capacity of 450-litres with the rear seats in place and 1,351 litres with them folded down – making it the ideal performance coupe.

Vice President Marketing and Product at Hyundai Motor Europe, Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, said: “With the All-New i30 Fastback N, Hyundai again sets new standards in the market, enhancing the brand’s appeal with highly emotional products. With the new hot coupe, our customers will enjoy the same driving fun of i30 N packaged in the car’s beautiful GT like shape wherever they drive.”

The cabin is well appointed with leather and alcantara seating, a chunky leather wrapped sports steering wheel with red stitching, a matching leather shift gaiter and an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. This houses the Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB Radio and most importantly a menu that allows you to customize the setup of your N – allowing you to select the precise settings for the engine, rev matching, suspension and even the loudness of the sports exhaust.

Another great touch is the red accenting on the air vents. Not only does this add some flair and colour to the cabin, it resembles the red strip found across the lower apron on both the front and rear bumpers. All i30 Fastback N models come with a host of safety features as standard too. These include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Alert and Lane Keeping Assist to name a few.

The car will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 4 this year. Prices have yet to be announced, but if you would like to hear more about the i30 N Fastback, click on the link below to register your interest and we’ll keep you up-to-date.
